A negative technique is when a glaze is removed or displaced with different tools in order to modify its appearance. Examples of negative techniques are stippling, strie, sponging off, ragging, and so on.
In this video Pierre developed a simple system in just two easy steps and with a minimum supply of brushes and materials. This technique allows for creation of a beautiful texture that is great on it own or as a background for marbling or distressing. This is a great finish to use for baseboards, casing, profiles, molding and so on.
